Nixon Centennial Website!

Richard Nixon Website

The Richard Nixon Centennial is also celebrated as a website at: http://www.nixon100.org

“I was born in a house my father built…” and from that modest house in Yorba Linda, California grew the child who would become one of the most consequential men of his time: Richard Nixon.
Over the course of his remarkably full life, Richard Nixon would know some of the greatest successes any man, in any age, has known.  He would also experience more than any one man’s share of deep disappointments.

A century after he was born, you are invited to explore the extraordinary life and legacy of the patriot, president, and peacemaker who was born in that humble house his father built: the 37th President of the United States, Richard Nixon.

Rokeby Museum: Underground Railroad Exhibit

Rokeby Museum Exhibit

The new Rokeby Exhibit titled: “Free and Safe, The Underground Railroad in Vermont,” is one of our new projects underway.

The house and farm nurtured and survived the growing up and growing old of four generations of Robinsons—a remarkable family of Quakers, farmers, abolitionists, authors, and artists.
Today, listed as a National Historic Landmark, the site tells two stories simultaneously — of the Robinsons in particular, and more broadly, of Vermont and New England social history from the 1790s to 1961.
